What About Hollydays Volunteer Hours?

For 2020 only, we are providing members the option to sell additional Mercedes raffle tickets to satisfy their fundraiser volunteer hours. Each additional full $50 packet is the equivalent of two fundraising volunteer hours. In addition to your $50 Hollydays raffle ticket requirement, members now have the option to sell up to four additional packets of Mercedes raffle tickets above their standard Hollydays raffle requirement. To fulfill the volunteer hours, you will need to sell five full $50 Mercedes raffle ticket packets - one for your standing requirement and four to meet your fundraiser hours.

We highly encourage members to sell the physical books of tickets as it will be easiest for tracking hours. However, you can sell your tickets online via the Hollydays website. So that we support our members gaining a new skill in peer to peer fundraising, the Hollydays committee is putting together an easy to use packet with talking points and graphics to assist you with selling tickets. Stay tuned for info on this package at the end of August.

Starting Friday, August 14 members can pick-up their raffle tickets at the League office. You will not need to leave your car and a JLBR member, in appropriate PPE, will give you your raffle tickets through your passenger window. Check here for more information.

August Training Sessions

The Training Committee is providing a month full of informative trainings, and as always you can register for them from your member homepage. Active Members are eligible for 1 Meeting Credit; New Members are welcome to attend but will not receive a meeting credit. Click here to read about the upcoming trainings.

If you can see yourself in a leadership role within the League, you might want to attend one of the Executive Management (EM) training sessions. However, all sessions are open to everyone.

A Strategic Plan Is Underway

Update from the Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee

In order to guide our organization through change and growth in the years to come, the League has begun work toward a new Strategic Plan. The ad hoc committee is led by Long Range Planning Chair, Adrian Owen Jones, and comprises 11 active and sustaining members with diverse League tenure and placement backgrounds, as well as varying personal and professional experience with strategic planning.

We have chosen to invest in a consultant to guide us through this process. We formed an ad hoc committee and approved the budget in May. This was followed by a call for proposals from consultants across the country. Proposals were submitted, and the committee has selected a consultant to engage in the strategic planning process.

Your input matters greatly to ensure this plan reflects our collective and individual membership and engages each committee in mission-critical work.

Thank you for being a part of our League’s journey, not only this year but for many bright years into the future!

Spread The Word: Community Assistance Fund Grants Are Open!

The first Community Assistance Fund (CAF) grant cycle is open and will close on Wednesday, September 30. The projects funded through CAF represent the league's commitment to our vision; therefore grants of $5,000 are awarded to non-profit agencies and their projects that focus on health, education, and cultural development.

Member Spotlights

This year we are exploring and sharing how our members Own the Journey. We want to hear about members who are accomplishing amazing things both in and out of the League. If you know a member who would be perfect to share their story, please submit a Member Spotlight Submission form found on your membership page. Click the Resource tab then select Forms.
