It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of two Junior League of Baton Rouge Past Presidents this summer, Martha Lou Eisler McCrory (1963-64) and Madeline Nevill Wright (1962-63).

Martha Lou Eisler McCrory (August 23, 1925 - June 6, 2020) served as president of the Junior League of Baton Rouge in 1963. She was an active member of the organization for many years, and served in various leadership roles such as the establishment of the Community Volunteer Bureau in 1968, where she served as its first executive director. Martha is survived by her sister, Ruth Eisler Clark; her daughter, Ann Bullion McCrory of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren Katherine Craven Campbell (John) of Austin,Texas, Susan McCrory Doherty of Baton Rouge, and Thomas "Mac" McCrory Doherty (Robin) of Atlanta Georgia. She is also survived by five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

Madeline Nivell Wright (June 26, 1929 - August 4, 2020) served as president of the Junior League of Baton Rouge in 1962. She is known by many as the author of the recipe for Spinach Madeleine in River Road Recipes I. Madeline is survived by her brother-in-law and sister, Dr & Mrs. O M Thompson, Jr., and by her two children, Rosalie N. Reymond and William P. Reymond III along with his wife Robin. She is also survived by her three grandsons, Ben, David, and Mark, along with their mother Betsy, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund (PO Box 28,70775) or Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice (13702 Coursey Blvd., Bldg. 5, Suite 7, Baton Rouge, LA, 70815). 

We offer our deepest sympathy and prayers to the families for strength and peace during their journey of healing.
