Zeke Deighton: "Country Life"
A 1950s Yorkshire Dales childhood in words and music,
with songs, readings and anecdotes

Tuesday 30th October
 at 7.30pm

“Country Life” is a glimpse into Zeke's life, growing up in a small Yorkshire village in the 1940s-50s, a way of life that had hardly changed over centuries. A farming village, without television and few cars, where the pace of life was dictated by the horses who did much of the farm work.
Zeke has been a folk singer for over 50 years, and his first love is the old songs telling of a way of life that was coming to an end just as he was growing up. Putting together ‘Country Life’ has been like revisiting his childhood, and watching it will have a similar effect on Yorkshire folk of 'a certain age'.
“A good night that wor, I’ve paid more an’ been entertained less”
Tickets £5, available from Masham Community Office on 01765-680200 or online here.
