Hungrytown
Weds 17 July at 7.30pm

Combining spellbinding harmonies with heartfelt storytelling, Americana/folk music duo Hungrytown have been captivating audiences throughout the United States, Europe and New Zealand for more than fifteen years of full-time touring. The duo is known for the timeless quality of their songs, which combine Celtic and Appalachian influences, as well as their artful accompaniment on a variety of instruments, including banjo, mandolin, guitar and harmonica.
Lyricist Rebecca Hall is credited with compositions “that sound as timeless as any traditional songs” (Northern Sky, UK) while producer/multi-instrumentalist/husband Ken Anderson is lauded for his “remarkable affinity for instrumental embellishment” and for crafting Hungrytown’s “gorgeous vocal harmonies” (Folk and Roots, UK).

Tues 6 August at 7.30pm

The threat of war looms over Wensleydale and young William has a tough choice to make. Should he follow his heart or honour the family tradition? Will the call of Freya keep him safe and guide him back to his beloved Wensleydale?

BlueBoxt Productions has teamed up with local artist, author and composer Piers Browne to stage an exciting new adaptation of his evocative musical FREYA, a mystical story of wartime romance and heartache featuring talented young performers from across North Yorkshire. 

The production began developing in February and comes to performance during the school holidays, with the aim of bringing together like-minded young people interested in the performing arts.  Don't miss this unique and enchanting musical theatre experience.

Kieran Hodgson
Weds 24 July at 7.30pm

In 2003 a US led coalition went to war with Iraq, and Kieran Hodgson spent ten days living with a very nice French family. This show explores his formative experiences on an unforgettable school trip where he truly learnt the meaning of croissants, which is crescents.
Three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Yorkshire native Kieran plays Gordon in the BBC's Two Doors Down, and is stopping in Masham on his way to this year's Fringe

Carrie Tree
Friday 30 August at 7.30pm

Brighton-based singer-songwriter Carrie Tree has spent her entire adult life traveling the world with her music, stirring and softening hearts along the way.

With an uncanny ability to reach into the traditions of the lands she visits, she touches a place deep inside the hearts of her listeners wherever she performs.
Carrie has been a feature of the UK’s grassroots scene for over a decade and has toured across Europe.
She has collaborated live and in the studio with the likes of Carly Simon, Albert Mazibuko (Ladysmith Black Mambazo), Rumer, Martha Tilston, Damien Rice, and Andy Barlow of Lamb. 

Carrie's third album The Canoe has been described as “a remarkable album.…quality writing. Recommended “ by folking.com. With Carrie’s voice augmented by guitar, piano and percussion, her live shows bring the songs to life with a relaxed and honest intimacy.
