Update on Slack Grid Session Timeout June 28, 2022
On Wed, June 29 we will enable a session duration limit of 30 days for users logged in to workspaces in the Harvard Slack Grid. This means that users will need to re-authenticate about once a month via HarvardKey when using the Slack desktop or browser app.
Users will see a warning badge on their workspace icon letting them know it is time to re-authenticate. Clicking on the workspace icon will guide the user to log in via HarvardKey.
This change will ensure that only authorized users remain active in the Grid, and it will help us ensure that users' names and email addresses in Slack are updated when they change in the Harvard Directory.
Please be in touch with us if you have any questions.
