Cocha Cashu at BIOCON
On October 16th, as part of the International conference 'Biodiversity and Conservation of the Tropical Andes and the Amazon Rainforest', we organised a symposium to highlight science, education and conservation at Cocha Cashu. Presentations were given by Scott Robinson, Varun Swamy, Patricia Wright, Patricia Alvarez-Loayza, Darwin Osorio and Jessica Groenendijk. David Chang talked about his experience at Cashu as member of the first group of students to take part in our Tropical Ecology and Field Techniques course in 2013. And Jenny Glikman formally presented EduCashu, our program of activities to enhance our connection with local communities and other audiences on a national and international level. The symposium was followed by an informal workshop during which participants brainstormed about the future of Cocha Cashu. We are very grateful to all those who were present, for their invaluable input!
