TURN AWAY FROM SIN, AND BE FAITHFUL TO THE GOSPEL!

Dear Friends,

As we enter the Forty Days of LENT, the crosses we have been carrying this past year, both individually and collectively, can make this Lent a particularly powerful time of conversion and new direction.

Jesus’ journey to the Cross is our journey, and he walks every step of the way with us!

As we find new ways of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, let us be ever aware of our dear friend Jesus urging us on to deeper trust that the Way ALWAYS leads to new and more meaningful life. Our staff is working hard to put together some ways to follow the Way even better! May all of us grow in the Way of Jesus as we find new and abundant ways to ENCOUNTER JESUS BY ENCOUNTERING EACH OTHER AND THE POOR!

A BLESSED LENT!

Video Mass for Sunday, February 14th. Here is the recorded Mass for this upcoming Sunday (6th Sunday in Ordinary Time). We provide a worship aid to help you better enter into the prayer of the Mass. Please know that we will continue these recorded Masses indefinitely. We are so grateful to DV Productions, our Liturgists Mary Robertson and Meggie Moyer, and our cantor Amy Sobczak for their efforts in making our prayer as beautiful as possible.

In Person Mass. Please be sure to register online to attend an in person Mass. Our Mass schedule and registration links can be found on the Reopening and Mass Times pages of the parish website. The links to those pages are included every week at the bottom of this newsletter.

Both groups will be on Zoom and both will be reading and discussing Dr. Marcus Mescher’s book, The Ethics of Encounter: Christian Neighbor Love as a Practice of Solidarity. To sign up or to learn more contact Chad (grieselc@archmil.org) or Laura (hancockl@archmil.org).

Lent Webpage. Our Lent webpage is now live! Check it out for details on this year’s theme, almsgiving project, an at-home Ash Wednesday prayer service, and more. New information and updates will be posted throughout Lent. You can find it at ssppmilw.org/lent-2021.
