Dear Friends,
Happy Easter, and peace be with you! We hope that in a different, but still beautiful way, the peace of the risen Lord has been able to fill your hearts and homes as we celebrated Easter this past weekend.
We had a long (very long!) 40 days of Lent and we are now invited to enter into the joy of the 50 days of Easter. We pray that the Easter season will bring a swift end to the pandemic…or at the very least a little more sunshine, and a lot more chocolate! Whatever the case may be, please know how much we love and miss you. We would like to share a few brief updates as we look ahead to Divine Mercy Sunday (the Second Sunday of Easter).
Video Mass for Sunday, April 19th. Here is the recorded Mass celebrated by Fr. Tim and Fr. John for this upcoming Sunday (Divine Mercy Sunday). A worship aid is once again provided to help you better enter into the prayer of the Mass. We are so grateful for the time and efforts of David Vartanian and his son Blase (DV Productions of Milwaukee, WI) for helping to make these videos possible!
Parish Financial Support & Last Chance for Lenten Almsgiving. We are so grateful for your financial support of the parish during these tender and tenuous times. Thank you so much, it has been amazing to witness the generosity of so many! Please continue to mail in your envelopes and contributions to our parish office (SS Peter & Paul Parish, 2491 N Murray Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53211), and our parish staff will process these.
If you haven’t done so already, now is the last chance to send in your Lenten Almsgiving. We partnered with the Jewish organization Tikkun Ha-Ir, whose Veggie Chop Shop does amazing work to promote food justice and to feed the hungry in the city of Milwaukee. Please send a check to the parish office (see address above) made out to “Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee”.
When will parishes re-open? We, along with our parish staff, eagerly anticipate the return back to “normalcy”. At this time, we are unable to give a definitive date as to when our parishes will be open and regular programming will resume again. We will be closely monitoring updates from both the government and the Archdiocese, and will communicate any changes to you as soon as possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact either Fr. Tim (Cell: 414-762-7986; or Fr. John (Cell: 414-305-3824; if you need anything! Be assured of our love and prayers.
Sincerely, with love,
Fr. Tim and Fr. John
