Dear Friends,

Peace of Christ. Please know of our continued prayers for you and your loved ones. In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells us: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves.” Perhaps something that continues to surprise all of us is how long COVID-19 has impacted our lives. Who knew when the lockdown started back in March?!?! Likely though, much of 2020 and perhaps beyond will continue to be affected by the pandemic.

Our lives will be challenged by continued restrictions, conversations around the sin of racism, and any number of other things. But all of this takes a lot of grace and strength, and we cannot give what we do not have! So please rest – physically and especially spiritually. However and wherever you celebrate this holiday weekend, we hope it is a safe and blessed time. And a time where you can rest, relax, and re-charge! So turn off the phone, shut down the computer (except for our YouTube Mass!!), and unplug as much as you can. Our good God loves giving us gifts, especially the gift of sacred rest. And simply receiving that gift and thanking God for that is what He loves most. Peace to you and blessings on the weekend.

We’re Re-opening! We hope that you have heard the news that we are now ready to enter Phase One of our Family of Four Comeback Plan. As we establish our capacity for cleaning and disinfecting each of our church buildings, our return to public Masses will be a gradual one, beginning with one Saturday and one Sunday Mass per weekend throughout our Family of Four Parishes. Please click here to see the Pastor’s letter and specific guidelines and procedures at our parish.

Video Mass for Sunday July 5th. Here is the recorded Mass celebrated by Fr. Tim and Fr. John for this upcoming Sunday (the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time). We provide a worship aid to help you better enter into the prayer of the Mass. Please know that we will continue these recorded Masses indefinitely. We are so grateful to DV Productions, our Liturgists Mary Robertson and Brian Eggers, and cantor Amy Sobczak for their efforts in making our prayer as beautiful as possible.

Parish Financial Support. We continue to be humbled by your financial support of the parish during these tender and tenuous times. Thank you so much, it has been amazing to witness the generosity of so many! Please mail in your envelopes and contributions to our parish office (SS Peter & Paul Parish, 2491 N Murray Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53211), and our parish staff will process these.

Please do not hesitate to contact either Fr. Tim (Cell: 414-762-7986; kitzket@archmil.org) or Fr. John (Cell: 414-305-3824; baumgardnerj@archmil.org) if you need anything! Be assured of our love and prayers.

Sincerely, with love,
Fr. Tim and Fr. John
