It’s recipe of the month time! I have a love/hate moment every month with this newsletter. Picking one recipe (ok, one plus three backups) that earns the label Recipe of the Month is very hard for me. That might sound self-congratulatory, but then think about itif I don’t like all of the recipes I’m putting up on my site, why in the world should I expect you to read and make them?

I am writing this at what I am hoping and believing is the end of a gasp-worthy heat wave. And so I know that will impact my decision-making. Do you know what I was doing super-early this morning? Grilling. Because I had to cook some chicken, and I knew that there wasn’t a chance in hell that this task would get any more appealing later in the day. So, I was up with the birds, forcing my way through a grill session, because I surely wasn’t going to crawl back out in the early evening and deal with live fire. Now I’m in a tank top eating cold chicken in front of a fan. Don’t tell me you’re not doing the same thing.

Ok, since I have to choose, here it goes . . .

I told you that I was being swayed by the heat, and that's why this Recipe of the Month is a Cookies and Cream Chocolate Oreo Milkshake. Maybe I’ll get myself one of those beer hats and just put two of these shakes in the cup holders and walk around drinking them all day long. Laugh if you want, but I think I would be the envy of everyone I saw.
