Come & Be Moved...

 Garden News

Amongst the kitchen clutter, you can see a few seedlings potted in a tray.

I'm gagging to get growing… Yesterday with the help of Khai, we planted them out…

Under some fleece for warmth, and protection from the cats who like to poop in exposed beds…

A few days in, the peas are up and sprightly…

The turnips and radishes are saying, 'see you on the other side of winter' to be continued...

Health Matters…

I mentioned in last months news letter that sickness usually comes to town when the body is in need of cleaning…

If at all possible, allow it… I've noticed that 3 days of eating simple foods can often turn things around…

Porridge for breakfast, soups for lunch, protein, veg and grain for dinner.

Leave out of the picture dairy, fats, sugar, tropical fruit and veg, juices, tea/coffee, processed foods (all of which the body is overloaded with anyway)...

I usually support the above with miso, vitamins, echinacea,  hot water bottles, good water, and plenty of bed rest.

As for fevers/high temperature try and allow the body to go through this process, keeping an eye of course.

What is going on here is the bodies attempt of rid itself of infection, burning it out…

It is not just a symptom for us to get rid of immediately.
Sponging  down the person in a warm room, with cool water, making sure they don't get a chill. This supports their immune system, making it stronger for.

The alternative is that the sickness never quite shifts..., experiencing symptoms for another 8-12 weeks after the event…

Be Well. Xx*

For a New Beginning. ~ John O'Donohue

In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.

It watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.

Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.

Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life’s desire.

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

5Rhythms News
I'm 3 months now living here in Greystones. Again I see the 5Rhythms playing out in my life.

With flowing I followed my feet, trusting that this was a good idea to move house for the children and myself, whilst feeling the fear and doing it anyway…

Then staccato came to town with getting focussed, organizing rooms, setting realistic boundaries of what I can and can't do, physically and financially…

Moving into chaos with juggling work, rest, play, teenagers, feeling the release on several occasions with tears with the overwhelm of it all…

Beginning to lighten up in lyrical, letting go of letting go… making commitments to myself to take things easy…

Landing gently now into the land of stillness. Perfect timing for this time of the year…

Knowing now in my soul that here is where I'm meant to be with my sons, and that I've time enough to settle and find the new me during this stillness phase...
Sheev's & Phoebe with milk destined for the human milk bank.
Blown away by this article… A good friend of mine shared the story that she donated milk to a parents, whose child is 3  and has cancer…

They reached out with a call for help. Sheev's was nearby. Gave in a couple of bottles. Later on that day the child was able to walk around for the first time in a long while… Wow!

Both my younger sons had rickets as babies back in 2001/2. I would have been glad to know about this back then. The next best thing was to go to Phoenix's farm in Clare and receive milk straight from the goats tit! Job done.

There's also a Facebook link too. Let's help our premature babies, and children who really need the best start in life they can get!

Friday night classes… Last 2 for 2015 Fri 4/11 Dec
Last but not least, here is a sample of one of the paintings in a calendar by Mary Duffy.

Amazing art work in a 2 year calendar for €15. I've a few here in Greystones, if not, make contact & I'll pass you on Mary's details. She is willing to post them out if necessary.

Happy Winter Solstice for the 21st December...
The good news is that from this day on, the daylight increases. Now that's a reason to celebrate!
Namaste. Xx*
