Manga Recommendation

Want to procrastinate but ran out of manga to read? Here's a recommendation from Vicky and Cameron, our events director and sponsorship director:
Is-is that a boy? :blobsweat:
Ookami Shounen wa Kyou mo Uso o Kasaneru (The boy who cried wolf tells another lie today)

Ookami Shounen wa Kyou mo Uso o Kasaneru is a bit longer than last week’s recommendation, but still is relatively short with only 34 chapters. A light-hearted crossdressing romantic manga about a lie that escalates in a comedic way.  Exploring the age-old question of whether lies can do any good.

Exec Intro

Eric is our weekly events director; this semester he is running Place Where We Talk About Anime on Thursdays. This is what he had to say about himself:

In this exhaustive literature review, I will synthesize a growing body of research in plant to plant communication. With a focus on tree to tree communication, and the use of memes in this communication (tree memes) I will evaluate the existing evidence and gaps in research. The release of volatile organic compounds in response to insect or other parasite attack is the most well known form of plant communication. These chemicals can be detected by neighboring plants, who can then prepare to mount chemical responses to impending herbivory. If we compare this to human internet communication, these are not shitposts, but informative posts of the highest degree of quality. These internet comparisons are not completely unfounded, especially in regards to another form of communication known as the "wood wide web." Relationships between mycorrhizae fungi and plants have been extensively studied. Newer research has uncovered that these fungi can form networks connecting the roots of different trees.
Through the fungal network, trees can share original content: carbon, nitrogen and other nutrients. There has even been evidence of spoonfeeding, where new, young trees are given extra to help them along. As in the case of volatile chemicals, trees can even send chemical signals through the wood wide web to warn other trees of parasitic attacks. But what about memes? Currently, there is only strong evidence of toxic shitposting. Allelopathic trees will send terrible memes through the fungal network that inhibit the growth of other plants around them. Some will even bait, and influence the makeup of the fungal network around them, to more effectively deliver shitposting memes. There is a lack of research into other types of tree memes. Fungi like to grow in wet and dark environments. Therefore, dank memes are all but guaranteed to exist. One may possible argue toxic shitposting can be a dank meme, but more research would be needed to evaluate this hypothesis. Dank tree memes should be a central research focus in the future. Their discovery and study would undoubtedly be considered among the greatest scientific achievements of the 21st century.

Just one more week until midsem break, hang in there <<First Name>>
