FAVORITE QUOTE:
I have many favorite quotes, but I would have to say, “Many are called, but few are chosen.” ~ Marshall White quotes Jesus Christ.

ALUMNI HIGHLIGHT:

What’s going on with you?

I’m currently in college (Freshman), and I am going for my BA in Fine Arts.
I’m a Program Assistant for Unity Performing Arts Foundation (UPAF).

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUNGER MEMBERS?

You can do anything you put your mind to if you believe. Have faith and put God first. Do not let anyone tell you what you can or cannot accomplish. When people degrade or disregard your dreams…it’s because they didn't achieve theirs. Never stop dreaming; Never stop believing. Work hard and consistently make that dream become a reality.

IN TIMES LIKE THESE:
True Silence & Solitude Will Protect You From Noisy Religion.
Today we live in an extremely religious world full of beliefs, customs, traditions, rituals, and doctrines, all of which are different based on your life experience. In America, we have more than 300 religions represented, with Christianity being the most prominent. Unfortunately, today's Christianity is becoming more of a loud commercial brand or business enterprise instead of resembling its biblical beginnings or the founder's principles. The commercial version of Jesus has become more like an influential figurehead who can give you access to power, money, and influence and has very little time or attention for people of little means. People don't be fooled by a socially selective, economically privileged, and racially-biased religion. It is power structured, violently influenced, and unable to love humanity to the fullest.

IN TIMES LIKE THESE: People are desperately hurting, hopeless, and very vulnerable to messengers of deceit. They need something REAL that can protect them from the noise that comes from false information, messages, speeches, and sermons. The most important weapon we all have against this noisy world is that we can turn it off. Yes, turn off the television, radio, internet, and cell phone and learn the power of silence and solitude. Silence and solitude can connect you to the Creator without any “religious activity”. Our anxieties, anger, worries, and fears are all feeding off of the noise around us. But, He says, "Be still, and know that I am God.” He is not a religion or a belief; He is the Creator of Life. Today, I encourage you to find your place of silence and connect with Him.

UNITY is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. There is so much history and information that the team has decided to highlight UNITY’s history each month.
