We are amping up to finish the school year, and taking a look at some of the fantastic events held this March.

We are getting so excited to kick off spring with some amazing new courses, camps, and classes, such as the STEM-INNOVATOR college course for 9th - 12th grades. This course is six weeks and starts on May 6th - June 9th. Students will work on real-life problems using a design model to create proposed solutions. They will have the option to take a final exam where they can earn three college credits from the University of Iowa that can be transferred to almost any higher educational institution within the U.S.
At Hip-Hope Inc.'s Many Shades of Color conference, Jewels hosted two STEM workshops, "Do Something Big...STEM that is!". We brought a panel to share their STEM journey, created different STEM stations so that the students get a feel for what's it like to do research or work in tech. The highly engaged middle schoolers gained more insight while they explored the different stations. We want to say thank you to our panelists of speakers and our sponsors!
During Spring Break, we took a field trip to Hyvee's Technology Center. The students learned about various tech-related jobs and other careers that complemented the tech industry. The students were in awe of how much company culture created for their employees. We also learned Hyvee is more than a grocery store, they are in several business markets. The students left enlightened and amazed at the experience. Hence, they have asked for more career field trips!
