The third week of Young Emerging Scientists was spent learning about engineering from a favorite childhood activity - marble tracks! After learning the basics of architecture and structural engineering, the girls split into two teams to build tracks according to specifications. One team was challenged with creating multiple paths for the marbles to follow, while the second team was tasked with incorporating a mini trampoline.
Both groups executed it perfectly! It took a lot of teamwork and communication, and they ended up with some amazing creations. The day finished up with the groups presenting to other Jewels and parents.
Next week will be our final workshop for YES. We'll have fun activities, certificates, and of course, food. We're very proud of everything these Jewels have accomplished over the last few weeks, and hope to see them again for future workshops!
