2023 Emerald College Prep Program BizInnovator is May 11th - June 29th! The BizInnovator Program is an entrepreneurial course for high school students (9th - 12th). They can earn 3 college credits from the University of Iowa through a project base entrepreneurship course. We meet on Thursdays weekly from 5 to 7 pm via Zoom. This is a project base course and requires to meet outside of class hours.

Benefits:

• No cost to the student but limited seating

• Earn a free laptop upon the completion of the course

• Earn 3 transferrable college credits upon successful completion of a final exam

• Pitch to community business leaders

That's right, you will have the opportunity to create a mobile app for your IOS or Android device this summer. You will brainstorm an idea that needs to solve a problem and use mobile app technology to address it. In approximately 16 hours of classroom time. You will develop a concept, design, test, and share your completed app!

WHEN: 06/26/2023 - 06/30/2023(Monday - Friday)

We will host virtual sessions from 1 - 3 p.m. CST

This Spring Break we had an fun time learning about how STEM and self care are related. There are many careers in STEM that deal with creating self care products especially for products that are completely natural. All the products the young scientists created were natural and environmentally friendly. These young scientists learned how to create essential oils with a steam distiller, How perfume is made, and the making of lip-gloss. We would also like to thank WISE for coming out and teaching how to make lip scrubs! These lady’s had a great time and we cant wait for our next spring break program.

The Financial Literacy Bee provides an opportunity for students to have some fun while learning critical financial concepts, all from the comfort of home! This is meant for students in 9th through 12th grade .In this 30-minute course, you’ll explore short interactive lessons to help you better understand how to save, set financial goals, budget, and invest in your future. Let’s do this!

Where: Its online where students can complete the modules and summit the essay

The Prize: A $500 scholarship paid as a Visa gift card
