Month of Love is back! It is a yearly art challenge where artist's are given a word prompt each week in Feb. The first challenge was "black" and I did the Little Mermaid piece further down. This week was "blue." I created my favorite female protagonist Vin from the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.

I've been working at making my illustrations more narrative and less conceptual. I feel like 2015-2016 was me getting to know my new style and learning my strengths and weaknesses. Early 2017 was about doing pop-culture work and getting my foot further in the door for galleries. Late 2017 was me wanted to get back to illustration work in addition to gallery work. I've begun sending my stuff to companies again and I've started concept work for my Kickstarter. It's scary and a challenge, but we gotta push ourselves or we'll just stay in the same place, right? I know that me attending Illuxcon last Oct had a very positive influence on me. I'm so greatful for all the artists who advised me on my goals.
Here is the first concept piece for my Kickstarter and my submission for Month of Love week 1. I have a few more concept drawings I want to get done before the month is over. Likely they wont be this detailed, but just enough to get me familiar with my character and how I want to build this world. I talk a bit more about the character development here on this blog post. I'll officially begin my first drawing for the book in March. Get ready!

This was really fun project to be a part of. I had to have my sketches reviewed back in August to be in the show. G1988 currently exhibiting the Official Monty Python Art Show until Feb 24th in LA!

This is Brave Sir Robin. An 8x12 chalk pastel piece framed and matted with UV museum glass. You can check out the original or my signed limited edition prints by clicking here for their online store.
I posted some time-lapse videos on my Twitter to get people pumped for the show. I tagged Eric Idle, the actor for this character. He retweeted them both and liked the piece, which was pretty thrilling! :D
I'm hosting a live online demo for free on Patreon. I reached 10K on my IG and want to do a live demo and a giveaway to get to know my followers. Click the banner above to learn more. I hope you'll join us Sat!

Some new changes have come to my Patreon. In summary, I'm giving more content at lower tiers because I just like sharing everything :).

Now $2 patrons get to see everything. $6 patrons get live demos. $11 get demos and monthly prints. You can learn all about it here on this post.
