“The implications are enormous”: graduate student’s innovative
climate research could change building design


“By the end of the twenty-first century, building cooling [demand] in Madison will be very similar to Montgomery, Alabama, while building heating will be very similar to Louisville, Kentucky.” This means that building design will need to change.

COP26 was widely regarded as a crucial opportunity to achieve pivotal, transformational change in global climate policy. Countries are being asked to set bold targets to phase out carbon-emitting energy sources, end deforestation, invest in resilient infrastructure, and provide financing to support sustainable development.
