ExxonMobil and UW–Madison partner on biofuels research
The university is working with ExxonMobil to research the chemistry of converting biomass into transportation fuels.
Caring during hard times
WisCARES provides veterinary care for pets in Dane County whose owners are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. The service also connects them to housing support, food pantries, and human health care.
Hungry to learn
The Wisconsin HOPE Lab found that the number of undergraduates experiencing food and housing insecurity is growing. When basic needs aren't met, students have more difficulty completing their higher education.

RePower Madison is hiring a clean energy campaign intern. Interns can expect to learn skills related to energy, marketing, outreach, public relations, utility regulation and more. Application deadline is January 11.
Restoration ecology internMadison, WI
The Madison Audubon Society along with other restoration ecology programs in South Central Wisconsin are offering an internship program for those interested in working with various habitats. Application deadline is February 8.
Public service internship program
The Public Service Fellows internship program is looking for summer interns. There are various positions that are designed to develop skills for careers in public service. Application deadline is February 27.

The CalFresh Program is hiring a partnerships coordinator to help grow the network of community based organizations trying to end hunger. Application deadline is not listed.
LEED energy specialistWashington, D.C.
The U.S. Green Building Council is hiring a LEED energy specialist to serve as a project manager and team member to projects in the LEED department. Application deadline is not listed.


Zero waste volunteers – Madison, WI
The Isthmus Beer & Cheese Fest on January 16 is looking for volunteers to help monitor zero waste stations. Volunteers will receive free entry and a t-shirt. All volunteers must be of legal drinking age.
Undergraduate/faculty research fellowship
The Hilldale Undergraduate/Faculty Research Fellowships support undergraduate research done in collaboration with faculty or research/instructional academic staff. Application deadline is February 16.


Conservation grants
The Wisconsin Conservation Endowment's donor-advised conservation grants are now open. Every year it provides funding to qualified conservation projects. The deadline is February 1.
SEED research program
The State Economic Engagement & Development Research Program grants allow UW–Madison faculty and academic staff to engage in innovative research and generate support for research programs. Application deadline is February 15.
