Workshop: Assessing Impact: Are Your Sustainability Communications Working?
Communications are crucial for engaging campus communities in sustainability and for inspiring transformative action and meaningful change. However, higher education practitioners often question the value of their communications and may be unsure of how to assess their effectiveness. This workshop will provide attendees with the tools and resources to create an intentional communications strategy, set measurable goals, and evaluate key metrics in order to understand the true impact of their communications. Registration deadline is March 16; costs vary.
Wisconsin Pollinator Habitat Kits
The Xerces Society is offering free habitat kits that contain native milkweed and pollinator-friendly wildflowers to Wisconsin farmers and community partners who are excited to provide the land, time, and labor to develop and manage a habitat project. The window for submitting a project proposal form for the 2023 Wisconsin Pollinator Habitat Kit Program will open on February 1 and close on March 6, 2023.
UW Arboretum Spring Volunteer Trainings
Do you enjoy working with others while taking care of the Earth? If so, we encourage you to become a restoration team leader. You will develop professional ecological skills, practice the land ethic, and give back to your community. Training dates: March 29 (evening), April 1(full day), April 2 (full day), April 27 (evening), May 4 (evening), May 11 (evening), May 13 (full day). The application deadline is March 22, 2023, and the cost is $100.
UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Open Calls for Proposals
UNEP is seeking partners committed to environmental sustainability. Potential partners are invited to review the requirements related to calls for proposal which they are interested in by following the links provided and submit applications in accordance with the instructions given in the call for proposal.
Wisconsin Idea Fellowship
Wisconsin Idea Fellowships are awarded annually to undergraduate student projects working towards addressing a challenge identified along with a local or global community partner. Fellowships are awarded to semester-long or year-long projects designed by an undergraduate student (or group of students) in collaboration with a community organization and a UW–Madison faculty or academic staff member. Projects can receive up to $7,000 in total funding and students receive 3 academic credits.
