Green Building webinar series
On Fridays from May 30-Aug. 15, the Office of Sustainability will host online educational courses on a variety of green building topics from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), which developed the sustainability metric system known as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
The first webinar, to be shown Friday, May 30, at noon, will be "Cultivating Young Minds: A Net Zero School for Tomorrow’s Leaders." Please register in advance to receive free access.

After a soft rollout earlier this month, applications for the new undergraduate Sustainability Certificate are now available through the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Students should apply by July 1 for the first round of consideration.

Artist Victor Castro of the USgathering project will host a hands-on workshop where participants will learn how to make art out of unconventional materials. Participants are encouraged to bring clean materials that would ordinarily be discarded such as soda bottles, yogurt containers, tetra packs, and mushroom trays.

Ride to Farm

Ride to Farm is a bicycle ride to raise awareness and funds for the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Famers at UW–Madison. Riders can chose a 55-mile or 52-mile route and will stop for lunch mid-day. Registration is free, but all riders must meet a minimum fundraising goal of $75 by May 28.
