Sustainability Spotlight

Want to work on campus sustainability?
The Office of Sustainability is now accepting applications for a 10-week summer internship to advance sustainability projects on campus. Student teams will work with campus offices and other units to identify and implement sustainable practices.

UW engineers join new clean energy initiative
Researchers in the new REMADE institute will focus on improving sustainable manufacturing and on an education and workforce development program to fill identified gaps.
Spring Badger Volunteers registration
Sustainability sites for spring 2017 Badger Volunteers include opportunities in sustainable agriculture, watershed management, regional planning, outdoor education, and more. Registration opens January 20 and fills quickly!

UW faculty oppose DNR website change
Seven UW–Madison climate researchers wrote a letter opposing the DNR's replacement of language that stated climate change is human-caused with a statement that the reasons are up for debate.
Urban planning to support mental health
The Tokyo-based Center for Urban Design and Mental Health explores how cities can make us anxious and depressed, and what local leaders and planners can do about it through urban design.
