October 2015 Edition

Hello again!  We hope you are now feeling settled into the term.  After a few busy weeks, we are ready and raring to go to serve and deliver to London and Essex schools and charity organisations!

This edition we have further news on our new work experience service, another new team member and details on our re-branded Resilience Programme!

We appreciate how busy you are so thank you for taking the time to read this edition and we look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the future!
Work Experience
Find Your Spark successfully delivered a pilot work experience programme this Summer, matching those young people at-risk of becoming NEET with various work experience placements across London (click here for a testimonial).

Following on from this success, we have decided to replicate this model in Essex and have teamed up with Go4Enterprises, a local Social Enterprise in Colchester.  Thank you Pete from Go4Enterprises for all your help so far!

Email to find out more about getting involved.
Pete, from Go4Enterprises has kindly agreed to take on some of the work experience participants at their market cafe & stalls! Result!  Young people who are interested in getting retail experience or sales experience would be ideal for these roles and would be trained up before, during and afterwards so that they have the job readiness skills to succeed.
Resilience Programme (previously known as Positive Thinking programme)
We have decided to rebrand the Positive Thinking Programme to Resilience as the outcome of this programme leads to greater resilience and grit due to the positive thinking strategies employed.  The Boxing Academy will be the first organisation to receive the rebranded version in November.

This and the work experience programme fits in with the updated PSHE judgement (Sept 2015) 'Personal Development and welfare'(for further details, please click here).

Interview with Michael Pritchard

We recently got in touch with Michael Pritchard, an American stand-up comedian, youth counselor, and advocate of social emotional learning after viewing a video of his on Youtube (click here to see it for yourself).  And considering his name is pretty much the same as our founder's name, it would have been rude not to!  Michael kindly took the time to answer some questions for us.  Click here to read the interview in its entirety and find out more about the work Michael does.

We have another new member of our team!
Say hello to Jeffrey Wotherspoon who will be joining us in a workshop facilitation and coach context!  He will be an asset to the team for sure and will be joining Michelle when she delivers to staff and young people!

Click here to find out more about Jeff as well as Tuki and stay tuned to see further team members joining us in the upcoming months!

And finally, Find Your Spark was recently awarded with a Social Enterprise Award from the University of East London.  Here is Michelle accepting the award at the Haberdashers Livery Company with her fellow entrepreneurs.
Find Your Spark also just pitched for some sales coaching from Ernst & Young and was successful in receiving this.  This sales coaching will enable us to expand into the Essex market with a specific focus on the work experience programme.  Contact us to find out more!
