Please join USAID’s Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3) for the official launch of Nature, Wealth and Power 2.0: Leveraging Natural and Social Capital for Resilient Development (NWP2). Featuring a distinguished panel of experts, this event is the first in a series of Environmental Communication, Learning and Outreach (ECO) events that will showcase new tools and resources for the development community and provide an opportunity for learning, knowledge exchange and discussion around critical environmental challenges and opportunities. This event is being hosted by USAID/E3’s Office of Land Tenure and Resource Management.
Background: Nature, Wealth and Power (NWP) is a framework that helps practitioners, planners and policy-makers see the various interlinked dimensions of rural development, and as a result, develop and implement programs that are successful and sustainable. The global context for development theory and practice have rapidly evolved over the last decade, and the challenges and opportunities around issues like food security and climate change continue to grow and are more critical than ever. NWP2 focuses on implementation and goes beyond “traditional” natural resources. It includes case studies from Africa, Asia and Latin America, making it global in scope, while providing tools and recommendations for working at the national, regional and programmatic levels.
