Are you familiar with the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) for high school students?

It’s part of FIRST, whose vision is to promote science, technology, problem solving and FUN among young people.

Every year brings a different competition and new robots. Once FRC releases the game rules, teams have 6 weeks to design, build, test and ship a robot. Then a series of competitions give us the chance to prove what our robot can do.

It’s an intense and fun process that involves a lot of hard work. FIRST Robotics provides high school students a unique “real world” experience for their futures as innovators and leaders.

Join us! FIRST Robotics Team 2342 is having three open houses on Thursday, August 28th, Thursday, September 4th, and Tuesday, September 9th. You will have a chance to walk through four stations that will show you a little bit about what we do at FIRST Robotics. All are welcome. Refreshment will be available. You can learn more about the four stations below.

Driving Robot

At this station you will have the opportunity to drive the robot yourself! The robot is driven using joysticks and the shooter using a gamepad.

Wiring/Coding

At this station you will be shown how a robot is wired and how the software is written.

Machine Shop

The Mechanical Team will be showing you all the machines and tools our team uses in the machine shop.

Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

We design our robot each year in SolidWorks, a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) package. At this station you'll play with a 3D design of our robot from last year and see some of the neat things you can learn to do with CAD.
