National Healthcare Decisions Week

So many events, lots of people reached, awareness is growing....

Read three of the six winning essays from Arapahoe High Students. They are now working on a video to help others talk about death and dying.

The Conversation Project in Boulder, in conjunction with Naropa University graduate students, sponsored a panel called  "Cultural Perspectives on Death and Dying." It was a fascinating and informative evening.
Good Reading
Some rules are meant to be broken. Read about compasstionate nurses who gave a dying man his last wish. We are slowly beginning to understand the needs and choices of the dying.

Here's a wonderful RESOURCE for you and your loved ones.  Someone in your family needs to talk.....

And in THE ECONOMIST - as the conversation becomes more mainstream - "Death is inevitable.  A bad death is not."

Read about the "Dementia Provision" for Living Wills, from Compassion and Choices. What do you think?
Volunteer Coach Meeting:  May 8, 2017 from 1-3pm - please feel free to join!
Caregiver Symposium: May 16th in Longmont.

The Conversation Project in Boulder co-founders, Dr. Jean Abbott and Constance Holden, RN had a busy April.  Jean is educating primary care physicians about Advance Care Planning and Constance reached over 90 people during National Healthcare Decisions Week at Boulder Foothills Hospital.
