Hello Church Family!
The Spiritual Growth Campaign is finally upon us! We’ve been sharing a lot of resources and circulating a lot of information, so I would like to take this opportunity to put everything in one location for you:
Starting on October 10, 2021 and concluding the week of November 21, We will be reading selected chapters of the Richard Foster Book, A Celebration of Discipline.
Week 1 - Chapter 1 The Spiritual Disciplines: Door to Liberation
Week 2 - Chapter 3 The Inward Disciplines - Prayer
Week 3 – Chapter 6 The Outward Disciplines - Simplicity
Week 4 – Chapter 10 The Corporate Disciplines - Confession
Week 5 – Chapter 11 The Corporate Disciplines - Worship
Week 6 – Chapter 12 The Corporate Disciplines - Guidance
Week 7 – Chapter 13 The Corporate Disciplines – Celebration
For those interested in the complete Celebration of Discipline Study Guide
, it can be downloaded here.
For an abbreviated Study Guide
, which includes only the chapters we will be focusing on for the Spiritual Growth Campaign, you can find it here.
Here is a living list of the small groups
, which is being updated regularly with information on small group meetings, leaders and other important details.
This is the Purpose Document
for the Spiritual Foundation Campaign which I shared last week to help everyone prepare.
We still have a few copies of A Celebration in Discipline available and will have them, along with printed copies of the Study Guide, available in the Sanctuary on Sunday.
For those don’t yet have a small group for the Spiritual Growth campaign, please feel free to reach out one of the group leaders, myself or Pastor Rose.
Our hope in making all of the Spiritual Growth Campaign Resources available, is that everyone will be able to participate by considering some of the questions posed by the text either through independent reflection or discussion with another member.
I encourage anyone who might be interested to amplify their experience by participating in some of the group offerings being provided. Much like the experience of Cross-Fit training, the Spiritual Growth Campaign Exercises, while rewarding enough on their own, are enhanced through shared experience.
If none of the existing groups fit your life, I encourage you to create your own group for the next seven weeks. As few as two and as many as twelve people engaged in conversation will make a profound difference in your spiritual growth.
Warmly in Christ, Pastor Jonathan
