TODAY: Last chance to make a nomination for the Healthy Ageing 50
Are you, or someone you know, a leader transforming the world to be a better place to grow older? Don't forget to make a nomination for the Healthy Ageing 50 by 30 June 2022, 23:59 CEST!
The Healthy Ageing 50 is a new UN Decade of Healthy Ageing initiative aiming to celebrate leaders who have contributed to fostering healthy ageing in their respective areas of work – whether within administrations, organizations, universities, businesses, local communities, and more.
Nominations can be made in English, French, Spanish, or Russian. The Healthy Ageing 50 will be announced by a high-level UN panel at an event in September 2022.
The Healthy Ageing 50 initiative is supported by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the World Economic Forum (the Forum), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Age-friendly Environments: Creating better places in which to grow older
Exciting work is being done around the world to create age-friendly environments – better places in which to grow, live, work, play, and age. Here's a quick summary of some of what is going on:
The World Urban Forum organised by UN-Habitat is taking place in Katowice, Poland, where a roundtable on older persons was held. Katowice is also a GNAFCC member!
The AFE-ECHO programme, a recently concluded learning cycle for leaders on developing age-friendly environments, is being developed for French- and Spanish-speaking audiences.
Creating age-friendly environments is an important area for action during the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing. Please help us support your work by sharing what you're doing on the Decade Platform, or by contacting us!
