Age-friendly Environments: Creating better places in which to grow older

Exciting work is being done around the world to create age-friendly environments – better places in which to grow, live, work, play, and age. Here's a quick summary of some of what is going on:
Cardiff celebrated being the first local authority in Wales to join the WHO Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities (GNAFCC).

The World Urban Forum organised by UN-Habitat is taking place in Katowice, Poland, where a roundtable on older persons was held. Katowice is also a GNAFCC member!

The AFE-ECHO programme, a recently concluded learning cycle for leaders on developing age-friendly environments, is being developed for French- and Spanish-speaking audiences.

The Réseau francophone des villes amies des aînés (Francophone Network of Age-Friendly Cities) will celebrate its 10th anniversary on 6-7 July.
Creating age-friendly environments is an important area for action during the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing. Please help us support your work by sharing what you're doing on the Decade Platform, or by contacting us!
