November 2014 eNewsletter
In this edition:

Dear Friends & Neighbours,

The election is behind us and it's time to move our great city forward!

It's a privilege to be your City Councillor, and I'm overwhelmed and honoured to have received 83% of the vote.

Thank you for putting your trust in me for another four years. I will continue to represent Ward 25 - Don Valley West with a strong, passionate voice and a focus on customer service excellence.

After months of knocking on doors, I know that transit, congestion, pedestrian safety and gridlock are key priorities. You see it in each and every neighbourhood across the Ward.

Crowded trains, construction-related delays, traffic infiltration into neighbourhoods - it takes far too long to get around. Transit and traffic congestion are front and centre on my agenda, and I'll be working closely with our new administration to move forward as quickly as possible.

The new term is officially underway on December 1 and City Council's first meeting is scheduled for December 2.

The last weeks have been busy as usual! Please read on for a recap of some great events and what's coming up. Keep an eye out for my next eNewsletter for the latest news and updates from across the city and the Ward.

As always, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at or (416) 395-6408.

Thank you again for the incredible show of support!

Jaye Robinson
City Councillor
Ward 25 - Don Valley West
It's Official!

Signing the Declaration of Office yesterday with
City Clerk, Uli Watkiss.
Ward 25's First Pumpkin Parade at Alexander Muir Park
Ward 25's First Pumpkin Parade!
Ward 25's first pumpkin parade (a.k.a. pumpkin blaze) capped off Halloween weekend at Alexander Muir Park.

The event brought together neighbourhood families to give their
jack-o-lanterns one more day to shine before their flames are extinguished for another year. Many thanks to the neighbourhood volunteers who organized the event and to the families who shared their spooky creations!

If you'd like to bring a pumpkin parade to your neighbourhood next year, please let me know and I'd be happy to help you get started.
Roslin Avenue's Haunted Halloween Maze
A spooky Halloween Maze was the highlight on Roslin Avenue this year! Created from scratch, the maze has become a neighbourhood staple, attracting hundreds of maze-goers each and every year.

Yonge Lawrence Village BIA's 10th Annual Artwalk

Judging art on Yonge!
The Yonge Lawrence Village BIA's 10th Annual Artwalk is on until November 6 and features great local art in shop windows on Yonge north of Lawrence.

Last week I was asked to help judge the best in show and it was no easy task! After taking in each and every piece, our panel settled on a terrific top three:
  • 1st Place - The Colour Field and artist Arny Maralit
  • 2nd Place - Upper Canada Paint and artist Sheila Victor
  • 3rd Place - Mastermind Toys and artist Helena Wulff
Thanks to the Yonge Lawrence Village BIA and the North Toronto Group of Artists (NTGA) for organizing another fantastic show!

On November 13, 14 and 15, head to Blessed Sacrament Church (24 Cheritan Avenue) for the NTGA's 2014 Fine Arts Show and Sale, where many of the great works from Artwalk
(and much much more) will be on display. Head to for more information!
Shop Local: The Rolling Pin (3429 Yonge Street)
Visit the corner of Yonge and Teddington Park for one of Ward 25's most decadent and delicious new businesses - The Rolling Pin!

Specializing in everything from award-winning gourmet donuts to cupcake bouquets, this bakery and pastry shop is guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I stopped by last week and wasn't disappointed!

Bedford Park Public School Visit to City Hall
Thank you to Mrs. Paterson's Grade 5 class for joining me in Council Chambers earlier this week!
I was very pleased to welcome three grade five classes from Bedford Park Public School to City Hall this week!

It's a great opportunity to give students a front row seat in the Council Chamber and get them engaged in our great city at an early age.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to arrange a class visit to City Hall or if you'd like me to visit your school.
