As we move into the month of June it is time, once again for me to reassess the items on Ninth Wave Studio's 2020 agenda.
As you know, Coronavirus cases in Michigan have plateaued and some restrictions have been lifted. Governor Whitmer has determined that it is safe for groups of people (under 100) to assemble while adhering to social distancing standards. While that is relatively good news - it prohibits us from physically holding our planned events at Ninth Wave Studio because we do not have the space to accommodate appropriate social distancing measures. As time goes on and more restrictions are lifted the implementation of our current 2020 plans will continue to be reassessed. We just have to wait and see how things play out. See current actions below :
All future Advisory Board Meetings will be postponed until further notice.
Our June 5th Art Hop to showcase Boersma's artwork has been canceled.
We have Art Hops planned for September, October and November. It's too early to know if it will be safe for these to physically take place. There is preparation in the works so the September Art Hop can have an online component, Anna Ill and Maryellen Hains are leading that initiative.
Our first Artist Salon session scheduled for June 9th with Bobbe Luce as the presenter has been canceled.
Ninth Wave Studio's Ireland Immersion Trip has been canceled. Delta Airlines canceled the group's international round trip tickets.
There is some good news! The finishing up of the Ninth Wave Studio kitchen is underway. Kitchen cabinets have been ordered and a new refrigerator and stove/oven has been purchased. Also, the front of the house is scheduled to be repainted over the 4th of July holiday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the kitchen well be completed by Fall.
I'll be in contact with another update when it is warranted. I continue to be cautiously optimistic! Let me know what questions or concerns you have.
Stay safe and healthy,
Our 12 Member Advisory Board
