"Redeeming the Time..."
Our Dear Praying Friend,
I trust that your summer went by well, but if it was anything like ours, you feel like you just started yesterday. I was recently talking with a mechanic friend of mine about getting some things on my truck fixed. I told him that if I had the time I would have tried to fix these things myself, but I didn't have the time. Do you know what he said to me? He said that time is what they actually sold, not just fixing cars. I am grateful that the Lord allowed me to hear that statement because, upon mediation, it reminds me of how little time we truly have left in order to get our earthly job done.
Time is only redeemable never reusable. It’s kind of like a coupon. You can use it once, and once only, but after that it’s spent. That’s what deputation is all about - redeeming time. Sarah and I have had some pretty amazing experiences thus-far on deputation, but one thing that we have not forgotten is that we are trying to get to Chuuk quickly. Our hearts are there. Time is running short.
God allowed us to have some very good times this summer. We were able to be in an amazing missions conference in the Grand Cayman Islands, help out at Camp Deer Lake (which is very dear to our hearts), help run a VBS where we were able to see several children saved, and spend some time with both of our families. We also had meetings throughout the summer in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and South Carolina. God has truly been good to us. We are able to end the summer being at 55.5% of our support!
As we enter the fall season (a.k.a. missions conference season) we will begin a very busy traveling schedule. At the end of September Sarah will return home for the last couple of months of pregnancy and I will continue on the road traveling to WV, OH, PA, SC, GA, and FL. We appreciate your faithful prayers.
Thank you for the part that you have in this ministry. We look forward to getting to Chuuk in order that fruit may begin to abound to both of our accounts! We will keep working; thank you for continuing to pray. Let’s redeem the time together.
Until the Islands Know Him,
Josh, Sarah, and baby
