This winter I've been learning about clean language and naturally it inspired me to try it with my extended family. The result was extremely positive so now I'd like to share it with you.
The idea was to find out more about what each of us wants christmas to be, so that we can make it happen for each other!
During one pre-christmas gathering I simply asked: what is your ideal christmas like?
I was pleased with what happened next: everyone said what they'd like to have happen in order for this christmas to be their ideal christmas. For one person it was a focus on tradition and symbols of new life. For another it was getting a lot of help with the preparations so that they don't feel like they're the only one taking care of things.
A useful follow up question was: And when this christmas is about trandition and there are symbols of new life, what can you see or hear that lets you know it is like that?
These are the questions I'd like to leave you with tonight:
What is your ideal christmas like?
How will you know when it is like that?
Do you know what makes an ideal christmas for your closest people?
Is there anything you can do to make it a little more like that for them?
Happy holidays and a marry new year!
