"Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him, and He will act." - Psalm 37:5

Inaugural Newsletter

Welcome to our first newsletter! As we move forward in God’s call to serve at Bongolo Hospital, we plan to send out monthly news and prayer requests to partners like you. We hope to give you a little glimpse into our lives as we prepare to move to and eventually serve in Gabon. In addition we will share how you can be praying for us. Feel free to pass this along to others you feel may be interested.

As many of you know, we have been called by God to move to Gabon, Africa and serve with the Christian and Missionary Alliance at Bongolo Hospital. During the last two years. we have proceeded through the application process with the CMA and completed some required additional training. A few weeks back we were officially appointed as International Workers with the CMA to Bongolo Hospital. Between now and June 2016, we continue to prepare for this new ministry including weekly French language study and sorting through items to take, leave or donate. In addition, we are required to raise our own financial support and will be speaking with various groups and churches over the next few months (see timeline). For more detailed information about our calling and ministry plans at Bongolo check out Laneweb.

CCC Missions Festival

We were blessed to be invited to speak at Centerville Community Church’s missions festival in mid-November. As this is our home church it was wonderful to share with our own congregation our plans for ministry at Bongolo Hospital and how they can connect and partner with us. We spoke to all ages including Seniors, Children, Youth, Young Marrieds, Young Families, and Community Groups. We were able to share this time with another missionary couple from CCC who serve in the Dominican Republic, Brandon and Bethany Nutter. We shared our passion to follow God’s lead no matter where He is calling you. We are all called on mission. It most likely will not be overseas to Africa, but more commonly He is calling you to love and meet the needs of others right next door in your neighborhood or workplace. We have taken Psalm 37:5 to heart in this transition. It states, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” It is a simple reminder with three steps to fulfilling God’s calling - commit to His way, trust that He will see you through it, then He will act. We have seen God act in marvelous ways over the past two years as we have committed and trusted.
