Focus on container weights
Three major maritime organisations met in India during August to discuss container weights and what can happen when weights are mis-declared. Various speakers underscored the importance of having the right container weight as it placed the ship, seafarers and workers ashore and the cargo at great risk. Importer insight bulletin
The Customs Brokers and Forwarding Council of Australia (CBFCA) recently issued the Importer's Insight Bulletins which are several informative factsheets that assist importers in fostering a better understanding of the way that the supply chain operates. With topics like container x-rays and importers mitigation of risk being discussed, it's well worth a read.
