UHL's Taste the Difference Challenge! – Encouraging a switch to decaf drinks

Last year, Leicester's Adult Continence Team began working with ward staff and housekeepers in Leicester’s Hospitals, to offer decaffeinated tea and coffee to inpatients across the Trust. Continence Nurse Specialist Sarah Coombes tells us about the initiative. Read more.

In August of 2021, Gordon Young had a catheter fitted after an urgent 111 call. In this article he discusses his experience of living a normal life with a catheter while struggling with the sudden impact it can have on day to day activities. Read more.

The procedure known as urethral bulking helped Suzanne Davis with the urinary incontinence she experienced since the birth of her second child. Now, she is conducting her own study of other women's experiences and looking for participants. Read more.

Addressing the closure of public toilets in Bristol 

18 public toilets were permanently closed in Bristol in 2018 affecting many groups of people who are reliant on nearby public toilets. With the Community Toilet Scheme replacing the closed public toilets, many have found the scheme to be insufficient as a replacement. Read more.
Bowel Cancer UK - Colonoscopy confidence 

Colonoscopy is a very common procedure – and give endoscopists a close-up view of the inside of your bowel so they can clearly see if there's anything wrong. Bowel Cancer UK have launched a campaign to raise awareness on the importance of attending colonoscopy appointments when referred for them. Read more.
The cost of poor bladder management report

The Bladder Interest Group have launched a new report on the Cost of Poor Bladder Management.
This report explores the burden of poor bladder management, the cost to the NHS and the damaging impact bladder issues can have on patient lives. Read more.
