£1m funding for Scottish organisations from Better Breaks
The Better Breaks programme provides 12 month grants to third sector organisations in Scotland to develop and deliver short breaks projects and services for disabled children and young people (aged 20 and under), and their carers (adult carers and/or young carers).

New support for people with disabilities who have experienced abuse
The National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC)  new booklet offers advice for adult survivors of child abuse who have a disability or health condition, including neurodiverse and Deaf survivors, as well as explaining the impact of the abuse and making them aware of their workplace rights.

Introducing Disabled Living's new Occupational Therapist

We are excited to welcome Sam Mulleady-Owens to the Disabled Living team of specialists.

"Hello, my name is Sam Mulleady-Owens. I have been a community occupational therapist (Bsc Hons) since qualifying in 1998 from the University of Salford. My career so far has been working in various capacities across health and social care, including experience in learning disabilities, older people's services, intermediate care, falls and frailty services, palliative care, aids and adaptations, specialist equipment, major adaptation and manual handling / single handed care.
I really enjoy being an OT and am delighted to be working at Disabled Living!"

Baywatch Campaign 2021 - survey results
In August we asked the public to help with Disabled Motoring UK with their annual Baywatch campaign. We asked disabled motorists to complete a survey about their parking experiences over the past 12 months. The results have now been calculated.
