Greetings from the PROMSEX team, we hope that your families and colleagues are in good health during these challenging times.

In this opportunity we want to share our newsletter, a resource that we will keep updated to communicate PROMSEX's commitment to ensure the fully and equally practice of people´s sexuality and reproduction rights by making autonomous decisions, building equality in diversity.

This year, there have been changes in our team. Ms. Susana Chávez Alvarado requested the Board of Directors of PROMSEX, partial license to leave her position as executive director of our institution, which refers to her being in charge of the job and being our national representative, from January 1st to April 15th 2021. The Board granted he request. In this sense, she will continue to conduct international activities, especially those developed within the framework of the Latin American Consortium against Unsafe Abortion - CLACAI.

Hopefully this year allows us to continue generating changes to be a more tolerant and diverse society.

After almost 20 years of legal controversies over emergency oral contraception, the Constitutional Court is analyzing a lawsuit that seeks to reintegrate this method in the family planning programs of the Ministry of Health, definitively. This, iis essential to guarantee the rights of all women, without discrimination.

Reproductive Health is Vital

In Peru, given the pandemic situation and the confinement measures established by the government, access to sexual and reproductive health services was considerably limited, generating that the continuity of care for users cannot be ensured. Due to this, the following report was promoted by Promsex to inform the situation of the RH in the hardest months of the mobilization restrictions.
