Senior Experience 2021

February 23, 2021

Dear Titan Class of 2021 students and families,

Many Titan graduates consider Senior Experience a highlight of their high school journey. While we cannot totally recreate a typical senior year, we are committed to continuing some special Titan traditions. Senior Experience is one important tradition that will run as scheduled -- with a few adjustments as we allow for considerations required by Virtual PLUS+, Hybrid Learning and COVID-19 safety protocols.

Through Senior Experience internships and service projects, soon-to-be graduates make connections between what they learned in 13 years of school work and what they will encounter in the workplace. Our Titans will explore and expand their career interests, give back to the community, and network with community leaders and business owners. As always, progress toward graduation and post-secondary success are the highest priorities. Those seniors who are able to end their 4th quarter on May 21 without negatively affecting their ability to graduate in June will be eligible to participate in a two-week unpaid internship or service project of their choosing from May 24 - June 4.
  • The grade in each class on May 21 will become the 4th quarter grade. Students must complete all major assignments before that date.
  • Students are not exempt from SOL, AP or final exams.
  • Students may access detailed information and the Interest Form on Canvas at this link.
  • Students do not need to have an internship/service project confirmed before submitting an interest form.
  • Submitting an interest form does not obligate a student to participate.
  • Students must prepare and present a Capstone Presentation in a small group setting on Monday, June 7.
School Counseling Support Specialist Marianne Hawn has coordinated the program for several years. She is available at marianne.hawn@acps.k12.va.us to answer any questions and provide additional information.
