7 Steps to Detox Your Body, Mind, and Lifestyle
1. Drink more water.
Quick quiz: do you feel thirsty right now? If you do, you’re dehydrated. Water has so many amazing benefits: it helps control calorie intake, energizes your muscles, keeps your skin looking beautiful, and keeps those bowels working properly (hey, it’s important). If you’re not a fan of plain water, infuse flavor by mixing in your favorite fruit, like strawberries and blueberries or lemons and oranges, or mix in some veggies, like cucumber slices.
Okay, so alcohol isn’t a food, but if you’re trying to detox, you’ll want to avoid it. Same with too much salt; the body needs small amounts of it to function, but too much can lead to high blood pressure, water retention (read: bloat), and other issues. And did you think I’d let you get away with processed sugar? Nope. Try to minimize your intake. Stick to natural sugars from fruit and leave the baked goods and sweets for special occasions (and I’m not talking about Fridays, I’m talking about birthdays and weddings).
4. Get moving.
This should already be a staple of your everyday life, but if you’re not super active, just get outside and walk around the neighborhood after dinner each night. Not only can regular walks help you maintain a healthy weight and strengthen your bones and muscles, but it can also improve your mood. Major bonus.
TUNE IN to the Dr. Oz Show this Thursday, June 29th where Jan and Martin's Sanoviv nutritionist, Sue Ward, will be discussing Hepa Plus...
Dr. Oz understands the vital role natural detoxification plays in keeping you feeling your best. That’s why he wants you to give your liver a little extra love.
And that’s a good idea—because your liver works tirelessly to keep your body free from the harmful toxins you encounter every day. It’s a lot of hard work and doing it alone can be rough. Dr. Oz discusses how we can better support our body’s natural detoxification processes by eating more greens, drinking coffee, and giving your liver the extra support it needs with our liver detox-supporting supplement, Hepa Plus®."
Join Sue in this "behind-the-scene's" video of the filming for this Dr. Oz segment.
This interview before and after taping the Dr. Oz Show gives you insight into the upcoming episode that will air June 29th 2017. Be sure to set your PVR's to learn about a Sanoviv recommendation for liver detox.

Heavenly Hearts (aka Bites of Bliss)
Because the Mills Test Kitchen is always striving for excellence, we have revised and improved on our previous Bites of Bliss recipe; the tasting results are in and you're going to want to wear a helmet because these will "blow your mind!"
• 12 oz. (about 2 cups, loosely-packed) Medjool dates
• 2 cups almonds
• ½ cup shredded coconut
• ½ cup unsweetened cacao powder
• 1 scoop protein powder
• 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
• ½ tsp. himalayan sea salt
• 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
• ¼ cup almond butter
• ¼ cup honey
• Add dates and remaining ingredients to a food processor. Pulse a few times to combine, then use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl. Blend the mixture for about 3 minutes, or until the mixture has moved past the crumbly stage and begins to clump and stick to the sides of the food processor.
• Use a spoon or small cookie scoop to measure out a tablespoon of dough (or your desired size) and roll it into a ball. If desired, roll the ball in a bowl of coconut flakes. Alternately, you can flatten the dough into the bottom of an 8x8 inch parchment-lined baking dish, then cut it into bars or cut with heart-shaped cookie cutter.
• Store the Heavenly Hearts in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
MICRO FIT TIPS
from good friend, Kelowna Realtor Stephanie Gilchrist
Do leg-lifts while you are washing the dishes. Start by simply balancing on one leg.
As your balance improves, start lifting your foot off the ground, then switching sides.
Work your way up to raising your leg higher to the side or back, with a straight or bent knee and lowering it, repeatedly up and down. Put on a podcast or a playlist of your favourite songs, wash the dishes, and do these exercises to improve your core strength at the same time. Super simple, convenient and super effective!
