If you have a renewable NIH grant (types P, T, R, or U) with a current end date between 11/30/2018 and 2/28/2019, you will need to submit your competing renewal application for the Cycle I due date to ensure continuity of support. This cycle starts on 1/25/2019and goes through 5/7/2019. This is for an earliest start date of 4/1/2020.
When submitting to ORSP, please kindly consider deadlines to ensure the most comprehensive review. When submitting to ORSP, the PAF and application should be FINALIZED in the eResearch Proposal Management System (eRPM) at least four (4) business days before the due date.
Please see NIH Guide Notice NOT-OD-13-075 regarding the submission of Multi-Project Applications. Funding announcements will clearly state whether submission via ASSIST is required.
Use Funding Announcement Number
For Grants.gov submissions via eRPM, you MUST locate the appropriate Funding Announcement in the NIH Guide. Enter the Funding Announcement number in eRPM. The system will provide the links to the required and optional forms associated with the Funding Announcement.
Some institutes limit the increase in direct costs that can be requested in a renewal application. Please review institute guidelines before preparing budgets.
Applications with Direct Costs exceeding $500,000 in any year require approval from an NIH Institute or Center BEFORE submission. Facilities & Administrative Costs associated with subcontracts are not included in the $500,000 limit. This approval must be sought at least six (6) weeks prior to the submission date. See NIH Guide Notice NOT-OD-02-004 and NOT-OD-17-005.html for details.
