Transitioning from the 7471 form to new Project Budget Reallocation functionality
You have been hearing about this for over a year, and it is finally beginning! On Monday, November 10, new Budget Reallocation Functionality will be available for use. This new functionality will replace the need for the old 7471 Excel spreadsheet to reallocate budgets on existing P/Gs, and it will be accessed via the M-Pathways Financials & Physical Resources System for Sponsored Project/Grants. The new functionality will make it easier to ensure the proper approvals are obtained from Sponsored Programs.
You won't be required to use this until early January 2015, when we retire the 7471 spreadsheet. However, we think you will like it so much, and find it so convenient, that you won't want to wait.
The business processes and content of the form are essentially the same. Use is needed when there are any changes to the proposed budget of a project, whether it be for a single project grant or for sub project/grants for a parent project grant, or when Sponsored Programs has assigned an amount to the budget to be allocated. We'll be updating any old references to the 7471 form on our websites, and we encourage you to do the same if your department provides any such materials.
Monday, November 10, 2014 - The new Project Budget Reallocation functionality (replacing the old Project Budget Allocation Form 7471) will be available via M-Pathways (PeopleSoft), accessed from Wolverine Access.
On that day, training materials will be available and sent to single administrative points of contact (SAPOCS) providing step-by step-instructions to Create a New Budget Reallocation and to Approve a Budget Reallocation.
Monday, January 5, 2015 - The old Excel version of the Project Budget Allocation- Form 7471 will be fully phased out.
