We want to remind you of upcoming deadlines and office closings.

ORSP

For the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP), make arrangements now with your designated project representative to ensure ample time for processing. Please remember that ORSP staff will enjoy their holiday party this afternoon, December 7, 2018. For truly urgent issues, callers to our main line will receive an additional number where you can speak directly to our Executive Director of Research and Sponsored Projects. ORSP will re-open on Monday, December 10, 2018, at 8:00 a.m.

Good news! As an added help, this year we have launched some eLearning modules in MyLinc for completing FSRs and Closeouts. We hope these will help expedite your submissions.

Financial Status Report (FSR) Overview

The FSR Overview module provides information covered only in the FSR portion of the Project Closeout module. It is intended for those who may be familiar with the general project closeout process, but who wish to have a quick overview of how to interpret and analyze the FSR.

Time required: Approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

Pre-Closeout Analysis

The Pre-Closeout Analysis module walks you through a pre-closeout analysis of the Parent Summary, Project Budget Status Report (PBSR), Payroll Detail Report and the Voucher Detail Report, in addition to general tips, strategies, and resources to assist you during project closeout. We recommend that you complete this module before completing the Project Closeout module.

Time required: Approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Project Closeout

The Project Closeout module builds on concepts presented in the Pre-Closeout Analysis module, focusing mainly on analysis of the Uniform Guidance Report and Financial Status Report (FSR). It also provides an overview of other common closeout reports including the Late Charge Analysis, Adjustments Analysis, and Cost Sharing Analysis.

Time required: Approximately 30 minutes to complete.
