Mitigating Risk with eRPM Performance Issues and Upcoming PAF Deadlines
As you may be aware, the eResearch Proposal Management (eRPM) system has been experiencing periods of extreme slowness. The ITS team has implemented several changes to improve performance. While some have had helped, none have had the significant impact we expect for optimal performance. We therefore continue to investigate and make resolution of this a priority.
Meanwhile, with important funding proposal deadlines fast approaching, here’s what we each can do to ensure success:
How you can help
If an eRPM activity or page is loading slowly, do not open the same record (PAF, UFA, etc.) in a new tab and attempt to run the activity again. This contributes to performance issues.
Share this information with others who may be submitting PAFs.
How ITS will help
ITS will continue to work closely with their technical teams and vendor to identify the root cause and get the system operating normally as quickly as possible.
In an effort to be more responsive to periods of slowness, ITS may perform emergency maintenance more frequently. ITS will aim to post a warning in the system at least 15 minutes before taking it down.
