Michigan Institute for Data Science RFPs

Announcing Round 2 competition for MIDAS Challenge Thrust Awards

Dear Colleagues,

The Michigan Institute for Data Science (MIDAS) is holding a series of town hall meetings for the recently announced "Data Science for Social Sciences" and "Data Science for Health Sciences" Challenges.

Upcoming town hall meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 for the Health Science Challenge, and Monday, May 2 for the Social Sciences Challenge.

MIDAS leadership will present a brief overview of this funding solicitation. The Business Engagement Center (BEC) has been working to identify companies interested in partnering with faculty on research projects for these opportunities. We expect a number of companies to attend the town hall meetings. Representatives from the Center for Statistical Consulting and Research (CSCAR) and Advanced Research Computing - Technical Services (ARC-TS) will also attend to discuss data science services and infrastructure support for potential research proposals.

This solicitation will fund up to two projects "Data Science for Social Sciences" and two in "Data Science for Health Sciences" at a level of approximately $1.25 million per project. More information is available at midas.umich.edu/rfp.
