National Service Engagement Faculty Travel Support Sponsored by the U-M Office of the President
This opportunity is intended for any faculty member who seeks to share expertise and capacity in policy engagement at the national level and where travel funding is not otherwise provided. Such activities might include testimony to Congress, leadership service on national boards of professional societies, or involvement in other national leadership and advisory positions. This initiative aligns with the president's emphasis on the importance of public engagement by members of the entire U-M community.
Deadline: Rolling. Awards will be announced on an ongoing basis and will be granted until funding runs out. Applications shall be submitted at least two weeks before the travel date.
Eligibility: Any tenure/tenure track or research faculty member, across all U-M campuses, schools, colleges and units, may apply.
Awards: Funding for airfare and hotel, and will be dependent on travel location and other factors. Travel should be arranged through faculty home unit/department. UMOR will reimburse the faculty department for airfare and hotel expenses upon receipt of a brief summary highlighting the outcomes of the meeting.
