New NIH Trainee Stipend Levels FY18

NIH released a notice yesterday, NOT-OD-18-175, providing updated stipend levels for trainees. This Notice supersedes NOT-OD-17-084 and NOT-OD-17-003 and establishes stipend levels for fiscal year (FY) 2018 Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) awards for undergraduate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral trainees and fellows.

For those of you who are currently routing, or planning to route, a training grant you may update to the new levels. First, be sure to consult with your school/college/institute for their specific requirements.

Additional Notes from ORSP

All the NRSA-funded awards made since 10/1/17 will be adjusted to increase the funding to match the new levels for stipend and Institutional Allowance.

Anything currently pending or about to be submitted will be awarded with the correct/new amount of stipends and Institutional Allowance if it is funded.
