New Form Enhancements and Allowances for Special Characters and Attachment Ordering
New Form Enhancements
Makeovers and updated functionality are in store for the eResearch Grants.gov SF424 forms! Beginning with this 8.3 release certain existing forms and some newly supported forms for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Department of Justice, and the Department of Commerce will have a new design and utilize newer capabilities (such as a “drag and drop” ability to upload attachments).
Other current forms will be converted over the course of multiple releases, and so there will be a mix of the old and new format during this transition period.
Which are affected now?
The following forms will display in the new format:
USDA AD-1047
USDA AD-1048
USDA AD-1049
USDA AD-1050
USDA AD-1052
Financial Management and System of Internal Controls Questionnaire (Department of Justice)
ED-900A Additional Assurances for Construction or Non-Construction (Department of Commerce)
Example: USDA AD-1047, with all sections, collapsed: USDA AD-1047, with all sections, expanded:
Special Character Allowances on SF424 Applications
eRPM now supports the submission of applications that contain special characters from the UTF-8 set, such as:
umlauts (as in Zurbrück)
accent marks (as in Renée)
tildes (as in Castañeda)
While Grants.gov accepts the special characters, not all agencies’ systems will, and so we recommend you use this new function judiciously. We have outlined some recommendations in the 8.3 release notes. The result may be garbled or missing data in the application. As always, read the solicitation from the agency to which you are applying and follow their instructions.
Form Attachments on the Research and Related Other Project Information Can Now Be Ordered
Some agencies require attachments in a specific order. You can now set the sort order of the attachments in the 'Other Attachments' section of the Research and Related Other Project Information.
The display order can be changed when uploading a document or once all of the documents are uploaded.
