Mobility Transfer Center

University Engagement Program for Low-Carbon Forest Management

Funded Sabbatical in Indonesia

MSU is leading an initiative on university engagement for capacity building in low-carbon forest management and REDD+ in Indonesia. This is part of the large USAID LESTARI project focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and conserving biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant forest and mangrove systems in Indonesia.

Michigan Health Endowment Fund (MHEF)

 Community Health Impact Grant Program
- Michigan Health Endowment Fund is awarding nearly $2 million through the Local Impact Grants Program to assist local communities in improving the health and wellness of children and senior residents to help reduce the cost of health care.

The 2017 Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles proactive grant address the lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, and childhood obesity in Michigan communities.

Fellowships and Grants Program for the 2017/2018 academic year. The ASF will offer around $300,000 to outstanding American students, scholars, professionals, and artists for study and/or research in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. Fellowships of up to $23,000 are intended to support an academic year-long stay, and priority is given to students at the graduate level who need to spend time at foreign academic or research institutions. Grants of up to $5,000 are considered more suitable for shorter research visits, both on the graduate or post-doctoral level. Funding is available to candidates in all fields.

The Graham Sustainability Institute's new Emerging Opportunities Program supports collaborative sustainability research and assessment activities that span multiple disciplines and sectors and connect science to real-world decisions and actions. Two new funding opportunities are now available to U-M faculty:

Small Scale Catalyst Grants: up to $10,000 per grant.

Large Scale Transformation Grants: up to $450,000 per grant.

Poverty Solutions has two RFPs now open to U-M faculty.

The first is for collaborative academic-community research projects on strategies to prevent and alleviate poverty in Michigan, co-sponsored by the Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center.

The second is for junior faculty to pursue research projects focused on informing strategies that seek to prevent and alleviate poverty.


Symantec will award Ph.D. students one-year fellowship awards pursuing innovative research in security, cryptography, machine learning, data mining, and information security.

The fellowship provides up to $20,000 USD that may be used to cover one-year of the student's tuition fees and to reimburse research expenses incurred by the student.

The American Heart Association Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine aim to advance the science and practice of personalized medicine to improve cardiovascular health through a suite of data grants.

Innovative Development Grants - two-year grants focused on developing tools that enrich our ability to identify novel approaches and/or tools to analyze data

Data Mining Grants - two-year grant uncovering patterns and knowledge from existing data sets that will inform standards and ontology for current and future cardiovascular disease-based data.

Data Mining Pilot Grants - one-year grant focused in the area of innovation or proof of concepts.
