Two new modules have been added to the Navigate: E-ssentials collection.
Navigate: E-ssentials is a collection of self-paced elearning modules covering a variety of topics related to research administration at
U-M. Addressing common tasks, concepts and business processes encountered throughout the Sponsored Project Lifecycle, Navigate: E-ssentials also provides resources and job aids to assist research administrators with the successful management of a sponsored project.
Proposal Prep & Submission
Time required: Approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
The Proposal Prep & Submission module provides an overview of the proposal development and submission process, including common tasks and useful resources and strategies for research administrators. It also provides examples and information related to common sponsor guidelines, proposal sections, and proposal submission systems.
Understanding Effort
Time required: Approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
The Understanding Effort module provides information related to appointment types and effort certification, how effort is reflected in a sponsor budget, and formulas for calculating salary recovery and accounting for salary caps. It also includes additional resources and practice exercises to assist research administrators with effort calculations.
