The U-M Precision Health Investigators Awards will fund up to 12 awards in 2018 and will fund additional new projects in 2019. 

Amount: Up to $300,000 over two years to support research projects that advance the field of precision health.

Eligibility: U-M full-time faculty members with a primary appointment in research, instructional (tenure), or clinical tracks.

Depression Center

Depression Center funding may be used to gather additional and new quantitative or qualitative pilot data, refine methodology, test tools, analyze data, or further any aspect of depression-related research.

Eligibility: students, residents, fellows, or post-doctoral candidates.

Amount: $10,000

University Research Association (URA)

The URA Visiting Scholars Program (VSP)

Purpose/ Research Areas: Work at Fermilab/ high energy physics experiments, astrophysics, theory, accelerator physics, materials science, and computer science, related to the Fermilab mission.

Eligibility: Researchers who are faculty, postdocs, or graduate students at URA-member universities.

Amount: Up to $50,000 per year. May include travel and local lodging expenses during a series of short visits or salary support and round-trip travel expenses for an extended visit. Not included are indirect costs, tuition, fees, and other administrative expenses.

Amount: $115,000/year 
Research Area: etiology or pathophysiology of diabetes and its complications

 Innovative Clinical/Translational Science Awards
Amount: $200,000/year
Research Area: Approaches that accelerate/transition scientific discoveries into clinical application with human subjects, human samples and/or data, and offer considerable promise for advancing cure, prevention, or treatment.
Eligibility: Authorized to work in the U.S.

Junior Faculty Development Awards: $138,000/year for up to 4 years that support early investigators as they establish independence as diabetes researchers.
Eligibility: Full-time independent faculty with <10 years of research experience since their terminal degree and no previous or current NIH support. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards: $47,484 - $55,581/year for up to 3 years
Eligibility: Researchers (Ph.D., MD, PharmD, DO, DPM, or equivalent) 

Minority* Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards: $47,484 - $55,581/year for up to 3 years for researchers underrepresented in biomedical research. 
Eligibility: Ph.D., MD, PharmD, DO, DPM, equivalent

 Minority* Undergraduate Internship Awards (training in lab of current ADA-funded investigators): $3,000 one-time stipend to provide a mentored diabetes research experience to undergraduate minority students underrepresented in biomedical research.
Eligibility: Association-funded investigators for training of a minority undergraduate student working in laboratory.

The International Foundation for Ethical Research

The International Foundation for Ethical Research (IFER) is accepting a pre-proposal application for 2018-2019 Graduate Fellowships.

IFER Graduate Fellowships are one-year grants (renewable annually for up to three years) of up to $12,500 for projects that support the development, acceptance, and implementation of innovative scientific methodologies that advance science and replace the use of animals in research, testing or education.

Amount: $12,500 per year (renewable annually for up to three years).

Collaborative Research Development Grant involves creative, original, and hold the most promise in the areas of screening and early detection, etiology and prevision, molecular therapeutics, cancer biology, and genetics.

Amount: $300,000 annually for three years.

Eligibility: Full-time faculty appointments.

Liz Tilberis Early Career Award involves creative, original, and hold the most promise in the areas of early detection, prevention, treatment, and translational ovarian cancer research.

Amount: $150,000 

Eligibility: Junior faculty with M.D. or Ph.D. degree in the first five (5) years of first academic appointment after having completed their fellowship or post-doctoral training (Assistant Professor or equivalent).

Ann Schreiber Mentored Investigator Award - funding for trainees working under the supervision of a mentor in laboratory, clinical or epidemiology research.

Amount: $75,000 

Eligibility: Clinical fellows (Gynecologic Oncology, Medical Oncology) or Post-doctoral fellows with an M.D. or Ph.D. degree, and latter with  no more than five (5) years out of their terminal degree.

Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany is celebrating its 350th anniversary to stimulate innovative research in challenging areas.

Amount: Up to EUR 350,000/year for 3 years.

Healthy Lives / Drug Discovery: Identify and characterize the next game-changing molecule or technology to help cure cancer or autoimmune disease.

The PhRMA Foundation

The PhRMA Foundation offers grants and fellowships in Informatics, Pharmacology/ Toxicology, and Pharmaceutics

Amount: $20,000/year for our Pre Doctoral Fellowships to $100,000 for our Research Starter Grants.
